Program Overview

The ASSH Comprehensive Review Course is designed as an advanced review course and update for practicing hand surgeons as well as Residents and Fellows in training. The course will review the relevant concepts of anatomy, biomechanics and pathology as well as diagnostic and treatment methods relating to hand, wrist and elbow surgery.    The faculty are recognized experts in hand surgery and have been selected for their knowledge, expertise and contributions relating to the subject matter they present.

Learning Objectives

  • Assess the relevant concepts of anatomy, biomechanics and pathology relating to surgery of the hand, wrist and elbow.
  • Utilize generally accepted diagnostic techniques required to evaluate various disease processes.
  • Determine appropriate treatment alternatives for acquired, traumatic, inflammatory, congenital, metabolic and neoplastic disorders of the hand, wrist and elbow.

2018 Comprehensive Review course registration includes daily breakfast, lunch and refreshment breaks and a detailed course syllabus (electronic only)*. Course sessions and food functions are for the course registrants only — spouses, family and guests are not permitted in these areas.

Registration is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

All refunds must be requested in writing to the ASSH Central Office by email at meetings@assh.org or by fax at (847) 384-1435.

A full refund, less a $150 administrative fee, will be given if written notification is received by the ASSH Central Office on or before June 8, 2018. Cancellations received between June 9 and June 22, 2018 will receive 50% back of payment received.

No refunds will be issued after June 22, 2018.

The 2018 Comprehensive Review course will be held at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel at 1 West Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60601.

  • Check-in time is 4:00 PM and check-out time is 12:00 PM.
  • Complimentary basic high speed internet is offered in paid guest rooms.

Reservation requests must be received by 5:00pm CST on or before June 26, 2018. Upon check in you will be asked to verify your check out date. The Renaissance utilizes a 72-hour cancellation policy. Rates are subject to state and local taxes in effect at the time of the meeting.

You are invited to join the American Society for Surgery of the Hand at the 2018 Comprehensive Review in Hand Surgery course July 13-15, 2018 in Chicago, IL. Applications are now being accepted for tabletop exhibits.



This program is targeted for surgeons specializing in hand, orthopaedic and plastic surgery, as well as allied health professionals serving the hand care profession. Exhibiting at this program will allow you to reach leaders in the field of hand surgery and therapy in an intimate, small course setting. Expected attendance is 200-250 with approximately 90% surgeons and 10% allied health professionals.


Tabletop Exhibit Space ($1,000/table) 

  • Daily exhibition hours are Friday, July 13 from 6:00 AM – 5:10 PM and Saturday, July 14from 6:00 AM – 5:40 PM.
  • One 6’x30” skirted table and two chairs.

  • Final post-meeting attendee registration list (includes attendee name, company, and location).
