Candidate Member

Surgeons who have completed a hand fellowship program and are in the first 5 years of practice post-fellowship

Candidate Fellow

Surgeons engaged in an ACGME-accredited or RCPSC-accredited fellowship in hand surgery

Candidate Resident

$0 Annual Dues

Physicians within three (3) years of completing an ACGME or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (“RCPSC”) accredited residency in orthopaedic, plastic or general surgery or an AOA (American Osteopathic Association) accredited osteopathic orthopaedic surgery residency

International Member - dues paying

$350 Annual Dues

Physicians residing outside of the United States who have been in practice, in Hand Surgery, for 5 years. Application approved by Membership Committee, Council and vote of the membership

International Member - non-dues paying

$0 Annual Dues

International Members over the age of 65 may choose the non-dues paying category

Affiliate Member - with Journal

$300 Annual Dues

Fully licensed allied healthcare professionals (e.g., hand therapists; occupational therapists; physical therapists; physician assistants; nurse practitioners; registered nurses).

Affiliate Member - no Journal

$125 Annual Dues

Fully licensed allied healthcare professionals (e.g., hand therapists; occupational therapists; physical therapists; physician assistants; nurse practitioners; registered nurses).  Applicants who currently have a subscription to the Journal of Hand Surgery through another professional organization (personal paid subscription does not qualify) are eligible for the reduced Affiliate category

  • No Journal of Hand Surgery
Supporting Member

$300 Annual Dues

Individuals who do not practice hand surgery, but who contribute to the understanding and/or treatment of disorders of the upper limb, such as researchers (both US and International).  Applications approved by Membership Committee, Council and vote of the membership.

Senior Supporting Member - dues paying

$175 Annual Dues

Supporting Members over the age of 65 and/or completely retired can request reduced-dues paying Supporting category

Senior Supporting Member - non-dues paying

$0 Annual Dues

Supporting members over the age of 65 and/or completely retired can choose the non-dues paying Supporting category.

Honorary Member

$0 Annual Dues

Any individual the ASSH deems worthy of special honor.  Individuals are approved by Membership Committee, Council and vote of the membership.
